Wow.... so much info. THANK YOU. First of all congrats on nearing your surgery date. I hope I can learn from you please. I'm positive that you are going to be a rock star! I don't know how to PM people yet. Could I be as bold to ask you to send me a message and I can respond to that?

You and I aren't too far apart. I'm in Milton, and I work in the city ( downtown). I look forward to sharing in your new you. Thank you so much for the warm welcome. Fingers crossed that Optifast doesn't suck!

Welcome, I too am just starting my journey and finding this site very helpful. I had orientation in July at Humber and now waiting for appointments to be scheduled. I have started to track what I am eating on my fitness pal, wearing my fit bit and have cut back to one caffeinated coffee a day. I figure the more I can do now the easier it will be later. Fingers crossed, so excited to get this process started. Good luck, we can do this!

Welcome Blueeyes. I joined about a year ago when I started the process through TWH. You will be surrounded by people on your healthcare team, friends and family, and friends on OH who are caring, encouraging, informative, and sometimes thought provoking. My surgeon had said to be wary and take comments with a grain of salt, but I find that there is so much experience shared by those at different stages of their journey. You CAN do this and will find lots of good stuff on the way - luckily calorie free.

Best of luck.

Linda

Hey Linda,

I wanted to say thank you for your support. I love seeing all the TWH peeps here too. Makes me feel better knowing we can all be on the same page per say. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the bottom of your signature (?). The sizing and changes you are going through. Awesome way of thinking! Keep up the super work.

Blue eyes... also.. yes read as much as you can and experiment.. you will given the stages so prep is important. Get familiar with powder protein shakes, eating more protein, not drinking with food (sooo frickin' hard) and giving up .. yes... the sacred bubbly drinks!

You will see these awesome peeps go through the program and discuss it all from elimination to fitting into new clothes!! It is awesome!!! Ontario WLS is great- enjoy and maybe someday we will meet! J

oh boy, we can't drink anything with our meals? That is going to be a huge struggle for me. I always have a glass of water with my meals. ALWAYS. I guess we get info like this as we go? They can't tell you everything you need to know on day 1. Reasonable:)

I'm hoping to get to know as many people as I can. I'm a cheerful kinda gal. Hence the SMILE part in my name :)

Welcome!

It's completely normal to be overwhelmed in the beginning (and after surgery too). They throw a lot of information at you.

Joining this sight over a year ago, has given me such great information and support. Don't hesitate to ask questions!

Having surgery was one of the best decisions I have made. Five months post op, and have no regrets!

Good luck to you on your journey!

Orientation April 2016 - Final approvals December 2016. Surgical Class January 23, 2017. Met with Dr. Reed February 7, 2017. Opti start date March 1, 2017. Surgery March 15, 2017 (Dr. Foute-Nelong).
