I made a grocery order last week. preparing for a month of working every day, ( i am a relief worker and normally work 1-2 days a week but the regular receptionist is off all month so i get the shifts) i ordered some tv dinners. just to get me through the tough every night thing. I was all set i counted them out so i wouldnt have any left over after surgery and my freezer would be clear. i even planned to do alittle cooking on weekends to prepare some post surgery foods.

i totally forgot to factor in my Opti. totally. i now have 10 extra tv dinners.

Doh! lol

I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday!

Don't forget your single-serve blender and lots of ice (Walmart - Hamilton Beach - $13 and change). It made such a difference and, unlike many, I actually liked the Opti and enjoyed not having to think about what I was going to have for my meals.

TV dinners - never again!

Have to purge the pasta and rice from my cabinet. it is ridiculous the amount that accrues. time to get healthy choices in there. at least you can eat salmon eventually!!! lol

Hello

Optifast is so easy !!I didn't mind it too much.

Having to do it over Christmas is a very different story.

I would not get too caught up with meal preparation pre op.... Well unless it is for your family.

Quite honestly.... It will be months before you have to worry about meal preparation & all that stuff in the freezer will be old.

Pick up bottled water if you are not a tap water gal.

Pick up a few cases of Costco Premiere Protein shakes, flavourless protein powder, vitamins, broths....

You will be amazed at how great you will feel post op. You will be out & about before you know it.

I am 7 months out. I had my surgery on a Wednesday, home Thursday & I spent (2) at Homesence Sunday morning....

TV dinners? Bring them back where you bought them or bring them into to work and give them away!

Best of luck with a Opti and surgery!

Come back here daily

Take care & good luck!

Sandra.

Thanks for all the advice!

this will be my third time on Opti, so i am pretty old hat at it by now. lol

i did it once just to lose weight with my doctors supervision. then i did it pre surgury last march (surgery postponed at the last minute) and now this time. i dont mind it so much actually.

i have the premier shakes, a new water bottle, a new shaker bottle, a tub of protien powder and my mom is getting a ton of broth and soup and things. (i am staying with her after surgery for a bit just to have some assistance)

i am ready!

I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday!
