Optifast

Second day of optifast almost completed!

Not feeling too hungry, I love that they included a few veggies with the optifast. Gives me something to add to my broth, not to mention it helps with the crunch that you miss with just drinking shakes.

not going to lie, shakes are not my favourite. It's been more of a plug my nose and drink. All I got to keep thinking is mind over manner. Going for a life changing surgery Aug.16 and can't wait!

Lucky you to have veggies. I wasn't allowed to have veggies. I actually had 2 optifast shakes today as my pouch was grouchy. I LOVED them today. It was a nice treat not to worry about food for two meals.

Yea the veggies help. Both of my parents had this done and they both said the hardiest part was not having a crunch!

If it helps:

I've been adding pumpkin pie spice to my vanilla shakes, which cuts the sweetness significantly. I've also discovered that adding lots of water to the shakes makes them taste more like milk and less cloying. But that's just me.

Expect an energy crash on day 4, and then things will start to get easier. Keep up the good work!

Stick with it - its not easy but its worth it!! So glad you can have veggies - that's great. I could only have broth and sugar free jello. I made that broth my supper and savored every spoonful. The shakes are ok if you make sure they are cold and the flavors are good. Just keep busy and keep your mind occupied. Good luck - you can do it! Only a few weeks to go til surgery!!

I do the same things with my soup, eat it for dinner and pray that the bowl does end haha!

I keep telling my self that my surgery is around the corner and it helps push me past any hungry "pains" or cravings :)

thanks for your support :)
