Meeting with my surgeon tomorrow and buying my optifast ! just wondering is it just Vanilla and Choc to choose from and do I have a choice of what to get ? What does everyone recommend ? Also, what's a typical weight loss after being on Opti ? Or does it depend on what you weigh now . I think I remember the dietician mentioning taking benefibre before surgery to help with constipation etc after surgery ? Not sure if I remember this correctly ..I think it's all going to really sink in when I start this on Friday ..

Yes, vanilla and chocolate. I ended up doing half and half but should have just done chocolate. I wasn't a fan of vanilla but I made the best of it. My fave was putting sugar free vanilla syrup in both with ice and grinding it up with lots of ice.

I lost 14lbs during my 3 weeks on optifast. Some people lose more and some lose less. It was a good jump start.

I got half and half of vanilla and chocolate. At the time you couldn't get all chocolate because the manufacturer was short on production or something. I didn't mind either, but with the vanilla I mixed in red raspberry SF Torani. I had chocolate morning and night as a treat and then the vanilla during the day. Didn't mind it :)

Also, in terms of constipation or the opposite, you might want to wait and see which way you go. I definitely didn't need help ;) I seem to go through cycles now.

I got all chocolate, but yes its just a choice of vanilla and chocolate. My sister started the medical program before I had surgery and tried both. She hated the vanilla, but she loved the chocolate, so I decided to trust her tastebuds lol

Everyone is different though, some people like the vanilla and hate the chocolate. The chocolate was good (for a meal replacement shake lol). Just make sure its cold.

Weight loss varies and probably does depend on your weight before surgery. My guess would be the more over weight you are the more likely you will lose more, but I'm sure there are exceptions.

I lost 16lbs on two weeks of opti.

Good luck to you on your upcoming surgery.

I got half choc and half vanilla... but should have just done all choc...lol.. but the vanilla wasn't bad with the pineapple banana crystal lite in it .... I only lost 5.5 lbs on the opti for the 2 weeks... so it does definitely depend on the person

I found it did constipate me on some days.. others all was good.. but I used benefibre in my shakes

Congrats you are almost there!

I am on day 21 of 21 days of Optiast (surgery Tomorrow)!

It was only vanilla and chocolate. I took 4 boxes Vanilla and 2 chocolate and was ok with that. I am used to protien powers so expected the chocolate to be "chalky", it was not. I added a little decaf instant coffee, lots of ice and blended. It was like a Frapp every time.

I did not get constipated but you can use benefibre or the life brand if no "movements". While on Opti

As for the weight loss.... i have been on an opti roller coaster. Last week I gained 6 lbs then lost it. Yesterday I was 282 today I am 283. Don't focus on the weight.

Good luck with Opti and surgery. You will be fine. This grop is amazing and is always there to help.

You will make it!.

So.eone suggested i space them out every 4 hours. It was perfect. Lots of Jello and for dinner a bowl of stock with broccoli, green peppers and celery. I also used a little Mrs dash. No slat lemon pepper seasoning which is 0 calories.

You will be fine. Keep busy and listen to your body. When you are close to the needing the next shake your energy might drop as mine did.

Well I am off to try to sleep....Nytol! Lol

Thanks for the well wishes.
