Weight loss seems slower than I thought it would be?!

As many of you I had a great start..losing 25lbs in the first month. The scale is still creeping down and I am thankful for every pound and ounce, however I feel like the loss is so slow considering how little I eat! I will lose now anywhere between 1 to 3 lbs a week and I am almost 3 months out. Is that normal? I feel like I should be losing 3-4 pounds every week....and perhaps that is just simply unrealistic of me. I feel so desperate to be under 200 lbs and as of today I am 15lbs and a few ounces away from that huge milestone. But I know it is not going to happen for at least a month and a half.

Can I ask...at this point in the game how much are/were you losing?

Thanks guys!

1-3 pounds a week was all I was losing on the scale...but it's the inches that you are losing that the scale doesn't reflect. My surgeon also told me you will face lots of stalls as your body keeps adjusting. There will be weeks we can gain...we won't constantly lose...you just need to stick to the plan and keep going.

You are close to 200lbs so you won't lose as much either who has more to lose.

Hang in there!!

I had my surgery on May. 16, 2017

I have "only" lost 30lbs. But I am really happy with that! I started at 235.5 (weight on May. 2 at the clinic) and this morning I weighed in at 205.5. I had two weeks where I didn't lose anything and my weight kept fluctuating (upwards) and I am dropping again, averaging 1-3lbs a week. I started doing light cardio this week too!

Wow...that seems great! It's just the slow downs that bother me...but I just need to keep pushing through and before I know it...onederland will be mine too :-)

A good estimate is 20 pounds the first month, 10 pounds a month for months 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Then 5 pounds a month for six months. That gives a total of 100 pounds in the first year.

Well if that happens I will be happy!! So far I am on track for that suggested weight loss...of not a little more. :-)

Thanks so much for the encouragement!

I slowed down alot in my weight loss around 6 weeks and stalled for almost 3 weeks. So frustrating but stick with it. Sounds like you are right on track!

You sound on track to me. Check out tickers on the weigh in threads...you will see 12-20lbs in the first 2 months and then drops 8-12 from there.

Check out my own ticker below below to get a sense...but everyone is different. You cannot control the speed outside of sticking to your plan.
