Got my "Meet the Surgeon" date - Ugh, October

Ok, so I got my call this morning from TWH for "meet the surgeon". On one hand, I'm so excited; I've passed everything and am moving on to meeting the surgeon. But I got my date - October 27. Ugh. That even bummed me out a bit!

Of course I will call for cancellations, but apparently they are few and far between.

I will keep my hopes alive and call diligently.

I'm so glad for you and understand your lack of patience at this stage of your journey. I was so happy to go through all of the appointments, learn so much from the healthcare professionals, members on this site and from my own research. Then, when I was done, my patience went out the window and I prayed for the phone call that would have me meet the surgeon and give me a date.

Read the bottom of your own signature and DO call for cancellations. They may be few and far between, but if you call once a week and are really nice, it may just happen. Remember, you do get more from honey then you do with vinegar (it just has more calories - lol).

The important thing is YOU GOT A DATE! Yeah!

Lol @ more calories!!!

Thank you for your message. Yes... To everything you said! I feel so blessed every time I call TWH. The ladies know me by now (lol), and are so lovely and try so hard to help me get earlier appointments. Today, the person I spoke with said it is hard to get surgeon cancellations, but to call every week.

It's so great they don't mind. I really believe they care about us and our success, and like you said, as long as we are nice to them, they really are helpful.

Yes, I have a date, which means I'm approved, which is so exciting!!! Almost surreal!!! Wow, my head is spinning a bit today. Lol.

Thanks. Yeah, they told me on Wednesday it would be a two month wait... and it turned out to be a 4 month wait. Yikes.

Crossing my fingers for a cancellation!!

I am so happy you got your date! I understand how bummed you are. :( I was told in January I would probably meet the surgeon in late February or early March... It was early June. >.< However, once I DID meet him it was scheduled for a much faster time than I expected! So I will keep my fingers crossed that the same happens for you!

Ugh, cant seem to edit my post. I did want to add that while Kingston does seem to move a whole lot faster, in my case it was also related to bad luck, the dietitian and a leg injury that required me to reschedule two appointments since I couldnt drive (ruptured my Achilles tendon, Do Not recommend!)

Yeah, you had a couple of things go wrong for sure. Glad they are all behind you now. Stay healthy! Surgery is around the corner!!!

I am so happy you are through and have the Surgeon date and yes it does suck the wait. The only little sanity thought is that we are in the heart of vacation season which is likely playing a role in the extra long wait.

Time will fly by though and I suggest just trying to enjoy the summer as much as you can (while of course calling weekly for a cancellation).
