Literally a question for a friend

A family friend had weight loss surgery about 8 or 9 years ago in Michigan (OHIP covered). She was successful at the start but with not having the support she fell into old habits. Obviously a lot of things change in almost a decade and she is in a different place.

The question is: does anyone know of anyone who was able to get revision surgery after having their surgery covered out of province?

If she meets the criteria for WLS then her doctor can refer her. Not sure what type of revision she is looking for but very few doctors do revisions from RNY to anything else. I had a friend who had the old stomach stapling that they used to do prior to RNY and she was referred to Dr. Hong in Hamilton as he was one of the few that would attempt a revision. She still had to get referred through the bariatric network and she ended up being assigned to Humber but they sent her on to Hamilton due to her cir****tances. It took her a bit longer than most as she had to have extra tests done and she had to be referred from her initial centre to another.
