sipping my last optifast

I'm sitting her sipping on my very last optifast with a million things running through my mind.

I'm nervous. I've never been put under before. I'm worried about the tube down my throat.

I'm a bit emotional. I've been fighting with my husband the last 2 days, and I think its because we are both a bit nervous. Its rare that we argue.

I'm SUPER excited to enter this next phase of my journey. I've done so well on the optifast, have followed it to a T, which just makes me feel even more ready than I felt before to do what I need to do after the surgery to make the most out of this opportunity.

I'm grateful for a health care system that covers this procedure, otherwise I would never have been able to do this.

I'm appreciative of all of you on these boards who support each other and answer questions when needed.

I'm inspired by all of those before me who have had this surgery and shared their journey with us. Both the ups and downs. I hope to soon be one that inspires as well.

I have an early morning, have to leave my place around 5:30am to get to the hospital on time.
I know that the 'Losers Bench' is very full, but it's time for all you skinny-minis to scooch on over an make room for one more

Good luck tomorrow!

Do not worry about the tube. Your throat may be a little sore the following few days but you will be drinking liquids which will help!

It's normal to be nervous especially if you have never need put under. My hubby was the same way. Now he has since had to go under again and told me he was no longer afraid. As for the tube...you are asleep when it goes in and it's out before you are fully aware you are even awake. Like others said you may have a bit of a sore throat after...

TWH is awesome and the nurses we found felt nice and helpful.

Good luck but I am sure you will be fine!!

Welcome to the losers bench.

Try not to worry too much about the tube going down your throat. Your throat maybe sore after, but not always. After my VSG surgery in March, my throat was not sore afterwards. You will be asleep when they put the tube down your throat and won't remember them pulling it out after surgery. I've had a few surgeries before having the VSG, but still nerve wracking nonetheless. It's the unknown, when you've never been through a surgery. You will be fine. It will be over before you know it.

Good luck with surgery!!! Speedy recovery!

Good luck with your surgery today!

There's always room on the loser's bench because those of us here keep shrinking to make more room :-).

I didn't have any throat pain or discomfort after surgery; just a very dry mouth.
