Hello! Had my appointment at the Civic WMC today and was approved to move forward! Just waiting for an endoscopy and then can attend pre-op class 2.

I know everyone asks about timeline and I'm no different! Anyone else in Ottawa waiting or have had the endoscopy? How long did it take to get it and how long after for the class?

thanks in advance! Getting pretty excited here!

Hi,

I just had my first orientation session on friday May 5th. However instead of doing all of appointments at the civic, I am doing mine through the bariatric medical institute on hunt club road. Apparently ottawa has too many clients so they contract out to this bmi clinic. In the information session they showed us a presentation and said the wait list from start to finish was 4-8 months right now. Hope this helps!

Is that Dr Freedoff's clinic? If so, so lucky... he's such an advocate. He was recently added as a BMI clinic to help with pre-op.

I follow his blog! He's fab.

Yes it is with Dr.Freedoff. I am reading his blog too. He also has a great Pinterest page with lots of recipes. My husband and I are doing this whole process together :)

Awesome! I'm waiting to go to orientation on May 25 at the TOH WMC. All the best in your journey! I would of went to the April 3rd orientation but TOH had my old address and phone number in their system so I was never notified! I'm glad I called them today or I would still be waiting. Monica, who I talked to was awesome though and sent out my package today.

What didn't they ask you at the appts if you don't mind me asking. Why do you think you need an endoscopy? Congratulations on the approvals!

I have reflux so the endoscopy is to make sure all is well internally before surgery.

And the questions were pretty straightforward. Wanting to make sure that you have already started making changes in eating and physical activity. They ask if you know the basics of the surgery and risks.

Make sure you read everything they give you and go to your appointments prepared.

Hope this helps!
