Average Time Off After Surgery
I took one week off. worked from home the second week and back in the office the third. the hardest part for me post op was the low calories=low energy. once I got my calories up i was good.
I did have an easy recovery though. I went to Chudleigh's apple picking 5 days post op and then when i got home i cooked thanksgiving dinner for my family...so i recognize I may have had a faster recovery than most.

Although I have a desk job and my insurance company wants me back to work by 4 weeks, my doctor expects it to be 6. I'm 58 and in relatively good health and I agree that I want to be healed mind, body and soul before I go back to the office. I want to be on enough fluid and protein and then also eating real food by then. I also hope to have a variable height desk installed so that I can move around more from now on. There are quite a few in my office now so I'm hoping that my Doctor's recommendation is all that I will need.
How are people finding they are eating/swallowing after a gastric bypass?
