Meet the Surgeon-Guelph!

I am going crazy! I just got a call from Guelph and I am meeting Dr. Bhojani on Wednesday April 12th! I was just approved by the trio this past Wednesday and the Dietitian told me to wait a few weeks for a phone call so I didn't expect it to be that quick. They have me booked in for the nutrition class for May 8th but said if he gives me a date sooner then that then they will do a 1:1 nutrition class for me.

So many feelings going on right now!

I had my surgery with Dr. Bhojani on March 22nd as have some others on this site. He is a good surgeon who has a wonderful bed-side manner and is sincerely kind and caring. I was very pleased to have him as my doctor and the nursing staff at Guelph are also topnotch. Good luck with your journey.

Thank you! That helps a lot.. I always read the forums and get myself worked up thinking they are going to grill me and not accept me for whatever reason... So far they have all been great!

I am so happy for u! U r going to love him, he is amazing! I had him for my surgery on Feb 13,2017. Such a wonderful kind guy! I had no complications! Actually I met with him over the t.v to discuss my surgery today( I'm from Windsor so he said I can do it over the t.v) he was very happy with my outcome so far, he said I am doing great! U will do a great job as well I'm sure! I was scheduled my surgery 18 days after I met with him, but I'm not sure how far in advance they r booking right but fingers crossed sooner rather than later for ya! Best of luck!

I had dr bhojani too and I actually just saw him today for my 6 week follow up. He is amazing and Guelph was fantastic

Awesome! I'm so excited! Is there anything I should expect going into this appointment? I think I am pretty well prepared but just in case.

Hi, I hope I am not far behind you. I am going through Guelph as well. Orientation Mar.9th, Nurse Mar.16th, Dietician SW March 29th. Next appointment with Dietician & Nurse April 25th. and May 2nd Social Worker. I have been following everything to the T. I have already lost 25lbs. I have to complete my Sleep study again and I just finished the H-Piloric treatment so I need a nuclear breathe test. Once I get all this done I hope to be approved. Oh, and I also got a dental bridge as I was missing two molars. Fingers crossed.

You are doing awesome! Your weight loss should definitely help. When I was referred I was 306 and I'm at 268 right now.. The team was very pleased with mine and said they approved me quicker because of my weight loss. Keep it up and just make sure your food journals reflect the Canada food guide and you include protein in each meal and snack ?

Thanks for the Encouragement. I am very determined. I was 318 when I started but was down the other day to 297.8. I am determined to be at 260 or lower when it comes to my surgery date. I had a sleep study done 3 years ago but they wwouldn't accept it. So, I am going back for another on to Toronto. My apt is late in May but the nurse at the sleep clinic said there are always lots of cancellations and I should get in this month. She said in this case they would have my results in two week so I could get through faster. I am so ready for this life changing event. So glad to hear how well you are doing. I hope I have good news by next month.
