Orientation date

i finally received my info package and questionnaire for the orientation. My date is May 5 so that's just about exactly 4 months from referral. I'm being patient and hoping that the rest moves along more quickly.

In the meantime I'm trying to walk more and eat less!

The process is so daunting! My orientation was exactly 5 months after initial referral! But after that I kept calling the hospital for cancellation dates, and I got through all of my appointments within a month and a half from my orientation date, but at Toronto Western, they are so booked up my surgery isn't until August 4. Unless by some miracle I get a cancellation.

Hang in there - and don't be afraid to call and ask for cancellations....even for the orientation date.

Hi, I am in Collingwood area as well. I have been going through the program st Guelph. I was originally sent to Humber River but switched. I sent my referral the end of Dec had my Orientation on March 9th. I had my Nursing consult on March 16th and was to see the Social worker and Dietician yesterday. I go back on April 25th for my follow up Nursing and Dietician visits and Social worker on May 5th. The nurse says I will have my surgery by summer.

I agree with 123hollyd. Keep calling for cancellation spots.

Congrats on the beginning of this journey. It is long and frustrating at times, but hopefully it is worth it. I have 3 days until I am on the perverbial losers bench!
