Follow up appointment post surgery

I am on the TWH program but will do surgery March 15 in Guelph, and opted to get the follow up appointment with the nurse practioner at TWH, but having second thoughts and thinking I should have the follow up appointment with the surgeon.......any thoughts?

I doubt you would see the surgeon if you have your follow up in Guelph anyway.  So it's your call.

That's good!  I only saw the surgeon before surgery and never again.

Same here, in fact I learned today it was a 4 year that did my surgery under the watchful eye of my surgeon.  All good, He fixed me up good.

I am having my follow up with the surgeon in Guelph on Mar 10 and my follow up with the nurse/dietitian on Mar 8 at TWH. I can let you know after that appointment if I felt it was worth the drive out there, but at this point, I wanted to follow up with him since he did the procedure.

I'd probably opt for the surgeon if given a choice, but either way should be fine.

I'm in Northern Ontario, so my 2 week follow up is with my regular family doctor tomorrow.  My one month post op follow up is in Sudbury on the 28th of this month (a 4 hour drive), and if the weather doesn't improve I'm going to ask if we can do it via computer.  It's not like I see a doctor there or anything, just the dietician and nurse, I think. I don't think there's anything that can't be done over the computer.

I think I have to travel back to Toronto for my 6 month follow up.

I had my surgery in Montreal and was offered a followuo call with the surgeon.  I ended up turning it down because I had no complications or anything.  Why waste his time.  I have enjoyed my follow ups with the dietician though...

I had my 1 week followup today with the Nurse, she was very well informed and I was fine with it.  Surgeons need to be in the OR, not behind a desk IMO. 

I have a ton of post op appointments. 2 weeks after I see my gp. The following week after that I go to Windsor to see the endrochronologist and dietician. Then two weeks after that I see the surgeon in Guelph again. Both Guelph and Windsor are a 2.5 hr drive one way.  I don't mind though. I need follow up and am comforted by it.
