Trust me you won't be eating steak a month post op.  I also had to travel a month post op.  I brought protein powder, babybel cheese.  I ate out a lot and stuck to soups a lot.  You can get eggs anywhere in the world so that will be a good option.  Tofu is good at that stage. I actually went to a grocery store and stocked my mini fridge.  A bit later I was bringing almonds and cashews etc as well.  But 4 weeks is probably too early for that....make sure you are very hydrated for the flights and get an aisle seat so you can be up walking a lot.  Blood clot risks up to two months post op

Beef jerky, nuts, cheese, protein bars are all good options to travel with.  Bulkbarn have a lot of protein options so I would recommend you check them out for things to take with you.  Good luck!

At a month out, I'd avoid things like nuts and jerky, protein bars, they are harder to digest.

Like you suggested, I'd load up on protein shakes. I'd also pack some packets of electrolyte supplements to have on hand. Also whatever helps you drink water. I.e. Sports bottles, mio etc.

I don't know where in Asia you are heading but if you are healing well, Id be sure to try eggs , tofu, shrimp, cooked veggies etc, before leaving to see how it goes. You'll be better equipped at navigating a menu if you have an idea of what you can already tolerate.

I'd also suggest if you are going to try something new, I'd do it after your work obligations for the day, in case you have a bad reaction.

I was very conservative about adding food back in. When trying something new, I'd only have 1-1.5oz, to see how it went.

It might also be helpful to find out what your hotel might have available. Many parts of Asia don't have a ton of dairy, but there's a chance your hotel might have things like cheese and yogurt.

Good luck! I'm sure it will be a great trip!

oh my goodness - I am stressing about having to facilitate a 3 day, 8 hour class, 6 weeks post op and here you are going to India .... maybe I have an unrealistic expectation about what I will be able to do .... awesome for you to be able to travel like that ... I like the idea of shakes and soups.
