What is your reward for hitting goal?

I am still pre-op but there was no doubt in my mind what my reward for hitting goal will be: HORSEBACK RIDING.

As a child I grew up with horses.  I haven't been on one in at least 30 years.  They are my first love.  I wasn't always over the weight limit, but I felt I was too heavy to put the horse through that.  So as soon as I get to my goal weight, I am going horseback riding.  I live in the city but I don't care if I have to travel to do it.

What have you been denying yourself that you will return to when you hit your ideal weight?

my initial goal is to get to 170lbs.  My mom told me if I hit it she will pay for half my surgery...that is an incredible reward.

My ultimate goal is 150 by age 50 and I'm going to whistler for my 50th birthday.

Hello

I will be a long way off from reaching goal.

Back to Disney & Universal Studios and sit in the average size seat instead of the plus size one.

I will also go back to Canada's Wonderland Theme Park & ride on the Behemoth & the Leviathan.

Imay also go horse back riding with my sons!

My last experience was humiliating.  They were pushing on my thighs (like they were doing compressions) to get it to lock.

I was horrified that it would unlatch and I would go flying off. Lol

Probably canadas Wonderland too. I haven't been since 2008 and I couldn't ride any rides because I had just had my appendix out but I had promised my nephew we would go so the last time was probably 2005 and I felt too big.

I also can't wait to go to a beach and actually wear a bathing suit and not sit on the beach in a maxi skirt and tshirt.  Hopefully this summer. Plus go down on the water slides at great wolf with my son.

You.two girls can join my daughter and I on our Roller Coaster tour once I hit Goal.  This is my main motivation.  In 2008 I took my family to Disney in Florida while I was on a conference.  All my daughter and I talked about leading up to the trip was riding the coasters.  Well on the day it was going to happen, we waited in line only to getmto the front of the line to be greated by a "your add needs tomfit this seat to ride" sign.  It broke my heart.  My daughter was 10 the time.

My secondary reward is to start Kayaking with my wife.  I already own the Kayaks..just.can't use them until I am less than 300lbs and I can get in/out of it without my knees snapping in half.

I am not at goal yet but when I lost 100lbs I wanted to spoil myself I bought myself a diamond bangle. I am not sure what I am going to get myself when I get to goal but I have been thinking about changing my hair style as a lot of people telling me I look like a different person and asking me why did my other half go.. but I also want to get a small tattoo about my journey..

These are all great.  Yes the Wonderland thing I would love to do as well.  But for now... a shower with out getting a kink in my side trying to wash all of me would be satisfying!

But there will be a day in the not too far future that I will mount and ride a horse again, and I will probably cry!  I can't wait.

I would like to run the Disney half marathon.  I use to run 10 k races and I loved how it made me feel. I cannot even walk 5 k right now so a great gift would be to run the half marathon at my favourite vacation place with my boys cheering me on at the finish line.

I'm 2 weeks from surgery, but I keep thinking about the one thing that I really want to do.  I've never liked clothes shopping, ever.  I hate the dressing rooms, the feeling I get wondering if it will fit, having to shake my head no at my wife with an armload of clothes I don't like anyway. I've either been forced to buy from the "big man" rack, which, in my limited clothing tastes, are just god awful selections and never have consistency in fitting, or going to a big and tall store and buying something that requires a 2nd mortgage on a house (and still doesn't fit how I want it to).  I just want to walk into Mark's workwear house (my style of stuff) and buy what I want for once.

As the lbs drop off I'll be scouring Value Villages and Goodwill for anything interim until I level off somewhat.  When that day comes, I'm buying a suit.  A nice one, and I'm going to rock it.

Damn right you will rock it!  And we will all be rocking with you.
