Noisy gurgling

My first couple of days I was really focused on staying hydrated.  Now, I'm working on increasing my protein.  I'm finding when I have a protein shake, I have such loud gurgling sounds.  The shake is staying down ok, I'm not in any discomfort, but man, it's loud!  If I was out in public or at work, I'd be so embarrassed.  Anyone else have this?  Did it go away eventually?

Oh my!   This should be interesting in meetings.

Thanks for your replies - not what I was hoping to hear, but at least I know I'm not alone.

Yup, I still have it.  It is no where near as loud as it was in the first 6 months.  Tell people you have SBS - Symphonic Bowel Syndrome, or just tell them it looks like my probiotics are working.

I told my surgeon my stomach is growling and he said it is the remnant stomach (or whatever it's called, the poor part that is left behind).

How are you doing pain wise?  I've been having crazy pain.  I'm OK with water, beef broth, milk with protein powder (very little of it), and jello; everything else makes my pouch very unhappy.

I hope it will be OK with premier protein as I bought a lot, and will start it tomorrow.

I've been very lucky - almost no pain at all.  The first few days, everything I drank sat like a rock and caused discomfort.  Dr said once swelling goes down, it will get better...and it did.  No issues at all with it.

My pouch doesn't seem too happy with cottage cheese though.

That is very lucky.  The surgeon said  my pain is from the incision where he did the most work, and had to do extra tight stitches to close up the muscles.  It should start to get better in a few days hopefully.  If I don't move at all it is bearable, about a 5 but when I move it goes up to a 7 and if I walk or cough it goes up to a 10.  Coughing is the worst.

I'm getting discharged today and will be spending until Feb. 7th in a room in Toronto before I can go home.

Did you have trouble going pee?  I have a heck of a time getting started, it takes forever (Tmi, sorry). The nurse said it's a side effect of the pain killers and the surgeon said it's because the pain won't let my bladder relax quickly as normal.
