Hello and thank you great points. I have cut out a lot of bad habits pre surgery no more caffeine or alcohol. No adding sugar to anything no candy and no chips.

I do track everything I eat on MyFitnessPal but I have been doing it for about 4years and this latest streak is a little over a year long. Unfortunately I have let myself get lax and guessed some of my food portion sizes in the interest of getting it in. Bad on me I know. I got a scale and new measureing cups for Christmas

thank you you so much for your responses

Oh I am all for reading as much as I can. I am just curious as to what is not in the literally  6-8 books I have read. And the great info from twh it is always interesting to hear what people's own experience is. I take what you say very seriously and I thank you for your frankness and honesty. I will just forget about pasta. But yes it is good to know.

Thank you

Just as an FYI - I still learn new things every week by reading OH, articles etc etc

Its great you have read 6 -8 books.  Keep reading so you find out why most of us indicated that pasta is not a good choice.  Each book will have different points.

Please just always be open to learning re wls and experiences

OH an I DO

i have been off site for a time, since Christmas, (as my father was in hospital and i had to stay with my mum)

but before that i was on almost daily just posting and reading. i find it invaluable as a tool to have this site. to have you all and your experiences. i am getting back into reading on a daily basis. it is nice to be learning again. i love this site and the people with all their advice that's why i post when i have a question. so i can get the feedback I need. sometimes when i post it is for something i Know but need to confirm. or just like this, i had a question i did not find the answer to in a book or at a cursory glance at the boards. so i asked/ they say there is no harm in asking so i do.

but thank you so much for your counsel i appreciate it very much

Yet...thank you so much for bringing up the question. The posts here on this thread are exactly what I need to read right now. Never eating pasta again is huge for me. Thanks for asking the questions you did.

Still pretty high in carbs. On the rare occasions that I have pasta, I have edamame pasta. High in protein and fibre, low in carbs.

Hello there is some great advice already.

I was never a big pasta fan... Yes...lasagna or fettuccine alfredo were my only choices pre RNY surgery.

I have spent months reading the advice on this forum & I made the decision to be one of the successful ones.

I have chosen to eliminate carbs of any kind completely ie. pastas, rice, breads, potatoes et****il I have reached goal.

I have a feeling that a year from now that I may choose to continue with that choice.

Not sure my intestinal tract will want any of that food that contributed to my obesity & that it may not ever tolerate again.

I am loving the weight loss & how I feel right now.

Hope this helps & good luck!
