Another step closer....

I had my nutrition assessment yesterday.  It went well, a lot of positive affirmation of the changes I have been making over the last year or so.

So in one way I'm another step forward.  The dietician also noticed that they hadn't received my psychiatrists report yet, so after my appointment I called the psychiatrists office to find out if they send it....big surprise they hadn't even received the request for it yet!!! So I grabbed their fax number in case it was a simple incorrect fax destination....and left a message at TWH for them to call me back.

the one thing I have learned on my journey that keeps ringing true is to keep on top of EVERYTHING!!!

Just needed to vent/rant/someplace to spill about this as it's been on my mind over night...don't mind me :)

That's great! And very good advice! You definitely need to be on it. For example, If you are told we'll move your file forward when x is received or reviewed, ask approximately when they expect it to happen, (1 week? 1 month? ).Then put the date in your phone to follow up yourself to make sure it was.

Good luck!

Hello Tanya,

It is a difficult process in one way and quite a simple one in another.  I just called to confirm that all had checked in, that my case had gone to rounds, and I am just awaiting a call from the surgeon to schedule a pre-surgery appointment.  I have a 20 year old son who often deletes messages, and I also wanted to confirm that they had my work number as I also don't want anything to slip through the cracks.  There are so many of us that, although I have a great deal of faith in the system, I want to confirm that I am on the right track and I have completed everything required of me.

I wasn't anxious about the wait, at all.  But now that I am finished my appointments, I keep thinking about the phone call that will move me closer to the loser's bench.

Take care and happy travels on this exciting new journey.

Linda

Thanks Linda,

I am similar in that the waiting has not really bothered me, but now that I know I've completed the appointments and it's just that one piece I want to do anything in my power to get that completed too!

Good luck and positive thoughts that the call comes soon for you!
