We all have to decide on our own - and why do something that is going to make you uncomfortable - to be honest I am still a bit shocked that I did what I did - it truly is a personal choice.

All the best

I never made it Facebook official, but I don't really post much of anything on there. That might change as I get tagged in new photos, as the loss is becoming apparent.I have been very open about it otherwise. I think it was a great decision, and I'm happy when people approach me to find out more about it.

Congrats and good luck with your surgery!

Good on you.  I agree with Tracy.  It is alright to ask for medical help regarding most ailments, but most see obesity as just making bad choices and if we were to make good choices the fat would just melt away.  I had the same problem when I had a battle with depression and just couldn't solve it myself.  I asked for help - twice - and have been back to myself for the past 8 years.  Like you, I have made a conscious decision not to feel guilt, nor shame, nor embarrassment concerning this decision.  I am on a great journey and those on our healthcare teams are smart, educated and experienced.  We have the best of support from sites such as this, your Facebook friends, and hopefully our friends and family.  I started a blog on WordPress in September and invited a few close to me to accompany me on the journey and educate themselves.  I even said to my husband not to ask me questions, but to view the same video we watched and to read the same binders/manuals/information we receive so that he can be educated first hand and not just by my limited understanding.

You are in the best place and will continue this journey the rest of your life - up and down each step of the way.  You are blessed, confident and happy.  How much better can it get?

Keep us posted.  All the best,

Linda

I think i'm doing great. I'm lucky, I didn't have any complications things went smoothly. I'm not as tired now so that's a bonus.
