Anyone in Durham?

Hi All. 

New to the forum.  I recently had my orientation in TWH (Oct. 5).   Are there any support groups in the Durham region or Scarborough east ?  I can't seem to find any active groups in the area.

Hey. Congrats on your start to a healthier lifestyle. I don't know of any active groups in the area but there are awesome groups on Facebook and instagram that are very extremely  informative and supportive. The one on FB is called "Vsg/Rny; Gastric bypass, bypass all was support group" (yes just like that). I found I learnt so much and I'm. Glad I have there and here to come to.

Going on those ones u will find ppl close to you to have meet n greets and just anything. 

I'm always here too. I have surgery coming up on the 25 of Oct at TWH. Any question I'm here. Cheers

There is a support group in Durham that very active. We have a fb group but it's setting is private so u can't find it you would have to be added by a member.. the reason it's private because some people don't want people to know so out of respect the admin made it a private group.. we met at tims in Oshawa on Tuesday night then the following week it's in Whitby on Thursday. Both meetings start at 7pm.. we have people that are pre op to few years out.. lots of information and support. I started going to the meetings just after I had my orientation in march of 2015 now I am 6 months post op. If your interested in attending one of the meetings just let me know I can give u more information..
