Losing weight before surgery
Since my nutrition class a few weeks ago I've cut out sugar, pop and coffee. I've followed their guidelines and have drank all my water plus some daily and I've lost 10-15lbs this month. Will they kick you out for losing too much and deny you the surgery? I've yo-yo'd all my life and know if they kicked me out it would probably happen again.
I'm worried.
I don't think they will kick you out! I only lost 6-7 pounds and they never said a word. I'm not sure what you weigh but depending on that it is easier to loose more simply because you could have more to loose. which is why(not saying your 600 pounds lol just using this as an example) on my 600 pound life the doctor has them lose 50 pounds in two months just because they have so much extra to loose. if you understand what I'm saying. but I wouldn't worry I havnt heard of anyone being kicked from the program. keep working hard :)
referred mid Jan, info session feb 29th, nurse April 25th, nut class may 3rd, Doctor may 10th, social worker may 12th, dietician & sw July 11th, Doctor July 19, surgical education class August 22, meet the surgeon August 31, surgery September 22/16
I am glad that you asked that question as it is on my mind as well. I was 230 at referral. I am 234 now. My BMI is 42. My nurse's appointment is on Sept 15th. I am worried that if I lost weight, I will go under the 40 BMI that is required for me with no other health conditions. Surgery seems so far away for me though. I am a bmi of 40 at 220, so I feel like I can only lose 15 pounds before? that doesn't seem to make sense in my head but I just don't want any barriers to the surgery
