I cannot say enough great things about the entire Team at TWH!!

I look forward to going down there - they are all so friendly and helpful - something you don't always see - especially in a hospital environment.

So far I have seen:

Dr Susan Wnuk - Psychiatrist

Anna Wallwork - Social Worker

Wei Wang - Nurse Practicioner

All of them are amazing - no complaints at all - all very easy to talk to.

I have been so lucky to be able to snatch up cancellations along the way - and instead of my last appt being mid Dec - it looks like I may be wrapped up and referred to a surgeon on Sept 15th.

Considering my application went in mid Feb - I think this is super!

All I have left is the 2 hr nutrition course

Endoscopy

What a journey - can't wait !!

That's great. I was referred beginning of February but I still have the dietitian and psychologist to see. I was told I couldn't be referred to see the surgeon until after the psychologist appointment on Sept 21.  I am certainly hoping I don't have to wait long after that. 

My Psych appt was first - not sure why - I think because I already had the band - I didn't even get my other apps until after that.  I am hoping for a January surgery - but I will take whatever they are offering :)

I totally agree with you!!!  The Bariatric team at TWH is amazing from clerical staff to nurse practitioner, nutritionist, social worker, psychiatrist (seen today).  All so friendly......clerical staff returned my calls promptly in the several times that I called looking for any cancellations.  Just fantastic!!!

Im seeing the surgeon on Friday and hope to have a surgery date set.  

I had all my tests done within the last 2 years, so I'm good to go, unless the surgeon wants something else.

You got an appt with the Surgeon that fast?  That's excellent!

Well, although I'm seeing the surgeon tomorrow and he may set a date or may not, it's to review my ultrasounds and hepatologist consults as I have many cysts on my liver.  Apparently it's not worrisome and they aren't growing, but surgeon will say nay or yay.  Also not sure if regular Opti will be okay for me or enough to shrink the liver, if I am cleared for surgery.  

Does anyone else know that they have multiple liver cysts and how this affected their WLS???? 

Hoping it will still be safe for them to proceed with WLS.

TWH really is a great hospital and the level of care was stupendous before and after the surgery.  The nurses were so caring and really tried to give you good and practical advice.  They were really encouraging.  Only weak link in the chain was the kitchen ... I never did get the right meal the whole time I was there and the nurses were scrounging around trying to find me broth and apple juice all the time.  Definitely know what you can and can't have ... I wouldn't have been in agony if I'd eaten what they brought me.
