waiting for tests
Yesterday was my 4 week check up. That morning I had had a rough morning, vomiting up water after having a lot of pain. I was still sore when I was at my appoinment and mentioned it to the nurse. She said if I was still sore after the group meeting to let her know. I ended up getting an xray and being admitted to the hospital for a ct scan and an endoscopy.
The ct scan showed everything was fine. My pain sems to be over my rib cage, but that doesn't explain the vomiting (I took one sip of water in my room and threw up all foam). So now I'm waiting for the scope and I'm a little nervous about it because I don't know what to expect.
I think at this point they are looking for an ulcer. If they don't find anything then it's a stumper. Has anyone ever had this issue and not really find a reason for it?
so I bad the scope, turns out I had a stricture. They fixed it but it looks like Im here another night. Trying to eat jello but my pouch is sore?
ok so the dr jusr came in and told me I'll be in hospital through tomorrow AND I have to come back every 2-3 weeks for an endoscopy using the balloon to keep the stricture open. wtf! I'm so upset right now, especially because I tried to convince the surgeons to do the sleeve instead of RNY because I was terrified of getting a stricture.
I'm just upset, sore, hot, cranky and disappointed?
I am 3 months out from having a sleeve (revision from rny), and am about to have my second dilation due to a stricture. So having a sleeve is no guarantee that there won't be issues.
Unfortunately to treat a stricture they need to dilate. I know it sucks, but try and stay positive. I am happy for you that they found and treated the problem very quickly. You may not require more than 1 or 2 dilations. When I had my RNY I also had a stricture, and luckily it was resolved with one dilation.
Anyway, I hope you feel better soon.
