Question about Opti
on 7/5/16 1:05 pm - Brampton , Canada
they said at orientation that it's 1 week of opti for every 100 lbs...I'm currently 350lbs...would that be three or four weeks?? Any guesses?
(mind you I'm also at the start of my journey so I may be less by the time I get there...but it's been bugging me for a couple of days now)
I was told at my orientation that if you under 300, your two weeks, under 400, three weeks, and over 400, 4 weeks.
I'm around the same weight as you, I'd love to get under 300 so I have one less week of opti, but I wonder if your just under 300 would it be 2 or 3? In the end its probably the Surgeon's decision, but as of right now, going by what I was told you'd be three weeks.
Good luck to you.
The extra week would depend on the condition of your liver. Opti is used to shrink your liver for surgery. Expect minimum 3 weeks possible 4th. Once you get past the first 3 days opti is not bad. I really didn't mind it. Much easier than trying to figure out what to eat. Worked went to conferences just brought my opti with me.
Best of luck in your journey
Hey Tanya!
I was 360 lbs, so I had to have it for 3 weeks. I stuck to it and did not have anything else. Just the 4 shakes a day. I lost 20 lbs by my surgery date.

My surgeon told me I need to be on opti at least 3 weeks. I was 397. I did the 3 weeks, because it saved me $110.00. I went to the Dr. 1 week into my opti and had lost 13 pounds. I've done another week, and still have 1 week to go. I'll find out my final total when I go in for surgery, next Wednesday.
