Skin Tight - why did I watch it?

Have you seen this show on TLC?  I watched it on Thursday night - kind of wish I didn't.  I was like a deer caught in headlights.

I was very discouraged in the beginning.  I began to wonder if it's all worth it.  I know from reading other posts on this forum that nearly everyone feels it is.

Are there things that make a difference in how your skin bounces back?  Staying hydrated? protein? or is it all the amount you lose and genetics?

I watch that show too.  It is sad to see people still sooo unhappy with themselves even after losing all the weight because they are still left feeling very unattractive and unsatisfied.

I think the amount of weight you lose is a factor and of course the speed of which we lose doesn't help matters.. Losing 100 + pounds is going to result in excess skin....regardless.  Hydration helps in skin appearance, protein in maintaining muscle and genetics plays a role, as well as age, condition of skin prior (sun damage - stretch marks etc), and activity/fitness levels just to name a few.

I am lucky that although my skin is crepey in areas, its not really hangy.  Mainly my upper arms and upper thighs, which I can hide for the most part and I can still do some gym work to help improve that a little.  I'm not looking to have any surgery at this point.

I am sure that there are a few super lucky people out there that you would never know fought obesity and won, but most of us will always have that visual reminder of what we once were unfortunately.  The skin surgeries also leave some pretty significant scaring but still... truly a blessing for some.

I just figure........no woman is ever happy with their body totally.  If we all had perfect tight ,glowing, flawless skin, we would surely find something else to complain about !!!!   I AGREE !!!!!  Its still worth it!!! The positives far out weigh the negatives.

Our skin gets stretched and damages the collegen and elasticity of our skin. How long we are overweight and age  plays a big factor too. We lose weight very fast after surgery. Some ddo have more hhanging skin than others. All depends where you carry  your weight. Yes I have done a lot of plastics. If I had to stop with just a tummy tuck would I have been happy? Definitely.

You will have excess skin. Would I trade have the excess weight instead of skin? No. Would I want all the health issuess that come with weight? No. I think if we can prepare ourselves that we will have skin it makes it a little easier.

I have hanging skin. I did this later in life. My arms do not look much worse than a lot of people my age. I would love to have plastics but can not afford it. I would not want to go back to the stretched bloated skin I had before. It did not look any better then.

I love being thinner and all the things I can now do. It is worth the extra skin
