Ottawa Surgery Wait Time?
Hey y'all, I'm new here. :)
I live in Ottawa, and my referral will be done by my doctor this week. I would love to know what the current wait times are from referral to surgery for people who live in Ottawa and will be going to the Civic Hospital for roux en y surgery. Does anyone have any insight to share of current or recent referrals?
Thanks in advance! :)
Hi,
I went through Ottawa. I was referred in November 2015. The longest wait was before the first step (the info session). I got a date quickly, but it was 3 months away. After that, everything happened quicker and I have my surgery date set for Aug 11th! Good luck in the process :)
Referral: Nov 2015 - Group Info: February 2016 - Intake: March 8th, 2016
Class 1: March 26th, 2016 - Nutritionist/Behaviorist: April 22nd, 2016 (blood tests & ECG) - Consult. for prolonged QT: May 31st, 2016 - Class 2: June 17, 2016 - Surgeon consult: June 28, 2016 - Opti: July 21 - Surgery: Aug 11
Hi. I had my surgery a week and a half ago. My referral was December 1st, 2015. Orientation Feb 11 and surgery June 24th with Dr Kolozsvari. . I was sent through the Baritaic Medical institute Dr Freedhoff. So my wait was seven months. I followed what I was told. Started exercising before the surgery and started tracking my food right after the New Year. They seem to be working on shortening the time. We were told at the orientation except time to surgery to be nine months, but seems they are speeding up.
Hi there. I'm new here as well. I live about an hour west of Ottawa and will be having the surgery at the Civic. I went to an Open House info session on April 25 at the Civic around two months after my Dr sent the referral. I saw an RN at the Civic around 6 weeks later. I go next Monday July 11 for Class 1. I believe the next appointment is with a dietician and social worker followed by Class 2 then an appointment with the surgeon. These apps are all on separate visits. Their web site states up to 12 months from the time your Dr sends the referral. Hope this helps!
