Dr Glazer on Thursday - anybody else? What should I ask?

I'm seeing Dr Glazer on Thursday.  I'm trying to get a list of questions together.  Not exactly sure what to ask.  I'd like to have things written down before I go - I tend to remember everything I wanted to say only after I've left!   Any suggestions of what I should be asking?

Thanks in advance

That's Humber, right? I'm going through TWH and probably months away from seeing a surgeon. Good luck though!

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

77 lbs lost and counting!

Losing the regain! I got this!

Yes - Humber, sorry I should have mentioned that.   He's not the surgeon though.  I believe he's the internal medicine specialist (not sure I've got that exactly right).   I believe he's the doctor who does a full medical assessment of whether or not your body can handle the surgery - runs additional medical tests.  I also believe (and not 100% sure) he's the guy who will determine is RNY or Sleeve is right for your cir****tances.

Hey Tracks,

When I saw him last year, he looked through my file, looked at the computer screen. listened to me breath, and told me to wait in the waiting room to have an ECG done(everyone gets one)... It was a warm and fuzzy place that's for sure.

If you have questions regarding post-op meds(Heparin, Prevacid/Lansoprazole) then he will answer. Otherwise, anything else you should be able to get out of your surgeon.

Cheers,

Skotti

Skotti - I clicked on your youtube channel link.  It's funny, I had been watching some of your videos before I found this site.  Just realised you are one in the same!  lol  I appreciate your sharing.

For Dr. Glazer you will wait an hour or more in the waiting room and then see him for about 5 minutes. He will go over the papers you filled out, listen to your heart and probably send you for a sleep study. Then you will see him a second time for another 5 minutes and he'll tell you results of the tests he had you do and then hopefully clear you for surgery. He's very nice but not much to prepare for. His job is to clear you for surgery and usually that means a couple extra tests.

Hi there

I had my appt with Dr Glazer this morning. He's a very nice Dr. I was prepared  to wait a long time( as per many post I read)

I was in and out in an hour. I had BP taken,Ecg and weight taken.

Shortly after he called me in, went over my file, listened to my chest, looked in my mouth and that's it.

Gave me the ok for surgery. There's really nothing to prepare for. Just make sure you bring all meds/vitamins and know when you take them.

hope this helps

hope your appts goes as smoothly as mine went.

My appointment ended up being very similar to yours.  I'm being sent for some additional testing on heart and sleep study.  He said he's not concerned about anything in particular, just being thorough.  I was really happy with the support staff there, very friendly.  The only thing I didn't like was everyone in the waiting room could hear everyone's business at the reception desk.
