Will water stretch my pouch

hello all.....I had a question, which might seem silly. I had surgery 10 days ago. I am following my guidelines of 30 ml every 15 minutes, and usually eat 1/4 cup steel cut oatmeal and 1/4 cup yogurt for lunch, 1/2 cup soup and 1/4 cup  yogurt for lunch and 1/4 cup soup, 1/4 yogurt for dinner. I wait my 1/2 hour before and after meals. My question is will my fluids in between meals cause my pouch to stretch?  I find that I am drinking 1 protein shake (500 ml water) and another 4.5-6 cups of water or tea. I stop drinking for 14 minutes if stomach feels sore at all, although I am still having mild pain. Anyways I was just wondering if I am "normal" at this point :). Thanks all!

No, water runs out of the pouch just like pouring it through a funnel.  There is an opening on both ends.

Thanks for letting me know. It seems as though I am always thirsty, and I am generally a person who drinks a lot of water, so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't stretching the pouch inadvertently

Unless your centre told you differently you don't need to do 30ml every 15 min. You candrink more as long as comfortable. Sounds like you are doing really well. The every 15 min is to remind you to drink.  If you drink more than 30 ml there is no danger

If you are having some pain with drinking, it could be either you are drinking too much too fast, or it could simply be the temperature of it.  I am 5 years out, and still have a problem drinking cold water.  Room temperature or warm water are easier for me to drink.  You can also add 0 cal flavorings, which seem to help too.
