Have my pre-op appointment on Friday
As long as nofever you should be good. Not sure where you are going but usually you do blood work, EKG. Meet with nurse, pharmacist, anesthesia,, doctor. Answe. Alot oof thhe same questions and do lots of waiting. Brring a book and food to eat. They don't usually schedule lunch break. Depending on how busy they ae it can take hours.
I am assuming you are at Humber. I was there on Monday, you go in check in with reception then you sit and wait. She gives you a check list of who you have to see. I saw the Nurse first and she takes your blood pressure, goes over your meds, dont forget to bring everything that you take including vitamins and in their original bottles, she asked you a bunch of questions, they may or may not do the EKG depending if it is necessary or not. That took about 15 minutes. The nurse also sets up your next blood work too. Then back to the waiting room to wait again. I then went for my blood work as there was time for me to do so but you may not have time. The next person you see is the anesthesiologist. That took all of about 5 minutes for me. So if you did not do your blood work yet you will have to do that. The blood work took me a few minutes and then I was done. All in all I was there for about 2.5 hours. I hope this helps.
Depending on the time of your appointment make sure you bring your Opti with you and anything you need to make it, assuming you are on it now. You will have time to make one if necessary. If you are not on Opti, there is a Tim Horton's just down the hallway from where you will be.
Good Luck.
