Two and a half years out
Ok I get very confused when I read posts of set backs ok here is the question I have
I am only almost 6 weeks post op (still a big newbie) but I am having such a hard time eating and getting sick by not eating slow enough chewing enough etc.... And still learning all that (some things make me very sick for 8 hours some dont make me sick at all) but if this is the case how do people have set backs does it get that much easier to eat after awhile??? Because the way its going for me now I AM SCREWED when it comes to eating much at all. Ive hoped that this goes away after a while like some people have told me but It goes away completely or no??? It seems that if people put weight back on it does..
Please help on this ..thanks

Everyone is different. but yes, eating will get easier. after about three months you will be used to your new tummy and how it works.
Eventually I discovered how people say they 'cheat' their pouch - completely by accident and not following all the rules. My food seems to slip through faster than it should anyways.
Once everything fully heals you will be able to eat a little more comfortably. That being said - I never experienced 'dumping' and it sounds like you are getting that a lot. In a year this will all feel so natural that you may even forget that you had surgery at all and feel just like everyone else. So it is easy to forget where you came from.
Well its good to know i wont always feel this bad when i eat but it cant be dumping i dont think because its not sugar or carbs or fat that is making me so sick the 2 things that made me the sickest so far was a egg omelette i ate a quarter of and a peiece of chicken breast ..so i hope that i dont just dump eveything but other stuff does ok so idk....thanks alot for the quick answer tho! Appreciate it

Sounds like the things that are causing you problems are just dense and dry - I still have a hard time with eggs and chicken - or most dry type meats without a sauce or gravy AND BROCCOLI!!! They just seem to get stuck and sit like a lump. If you eat an egg try to cook it just over easy so the yolk can be a sauce to help things go down and for chicken I never have it without some sort of sauce.
Ok cool thanks sounds good..cuz i love chicken and if i cant have it that would suck but not the end of the world...just will try some gravy..i tried some worsteshire sauce but it didnt work to watery...but yea a runny egg sounds good too just cant have toast like usually cuz cant eat that yet for a month sooo we will see..thanks sooo much tho for your help.
