I am so excited and happy, I weighed myself this AM and am down 4.5 lbs. I have gained since i started the program due to changes I had to make to qualify for WLS ( quitting smoking really packed a FEW lbs on me They did not penalize because they said it is expected to gain when quitting smoking) I have my surgeon appointment on July 22nd and am excited for them to see this loss and with any luck I will lose a few more by then. I have been making much healthier choices and over the course of the program have gone sugar free along with reducing my carb intake. Most of all I am developing better coping skills to relieve stress and recognizing triggers that cause binging. I try to exercise but that is very hard for me due to I have arthritis in my back and knees so walking is quite painful. I do try to move more such as getting off the bus a stop or 2 b4 I need to and at work I have set my email to pop up and tell me to drink and move even if it is just to the copier or bathroom lol. I have been using this system for my water intake for approx 6 mos now and am finding it a great tool to remind me to drink. I get in over 2l in the day lol which doe require several washroom trips.

Thanks for letting me ramble, just wanted to share my preop progress :-)

Sounds great! Quitting smoking if super hard so grats to you for doing it! I quit about 12 years ago but was a 2 pack a day smoker - raised a few eyebrows with the nurses when I told them how much I used to smoke lol.

I also have bad knees but I am looking into joining the YMCA so I can use their pool, much easier on the knees.

Sounds like you're doing great!!!
