They require that you take 4 weeks (provided there are no complications). I'm just finishing week 1. You need the time off because you have to learn how to eat again. Learn to digress food again. You can't be distracted by work. Getting in my fluids is taking my full attention. Starting tomorrow I will be starting to introduce some puréed foods. Some may not sit well so if I'm going to be sick, I'd rather be sick at home. ;) In another week I will introduce soft foods. Then the last week you look at introducing some regular foods. It's a long and slow process, you need the time to heal and get into a routine.
