Optifast day 1

well that was interesting. Hmm, not sure what I think yet....

Glad I chose the vanilla to start and not the chocolate. I do not like chocolate. That may be hard to get down. Just tell myself, only 2 weeks, then surgery day.

Hey there!

Ya, Optifast was nasty. Many people I know put sugar free or what-have-you flavours into it. For me, I had to have it ice cold.. I would make it, put it in the freezer until ice crystals started forming.

Another person I know had to do the "plug and chug" method. She would plug her nose and go for it.

It will be over before you know it.

Good luck.

Cheers,

Skotti

Thanks. "plug and chug" LOL yep, I could definately see myself doing that for the chocolate ones. I'm going to experiment with some different flavours and different ways to see how I'd like it best. I hear coffee is good with chocolate. Gonna try that for lunch. Lol.

strong coffee in the chocolate or if you prefer to use instant coffee crystals, a heaping spoonful of that in the chocolate really takes away the chocolate flavour.  Vanilla was my fav too, easier to make it any flavour I wanted.  Did the smell throw you off by chance?  Using a cup with a lid can help with that if that is a problem.  I got used to the smell and texture after the first day so just drank them out of a glass and ended up really enjoying them after a day.

yes, the smell was a little interesting. I will definately be putting coffee in with the chocolate for lunch. I love my coffee. Decaf of course. I may have to take a trip to the dollar store for some cups with lids/straws. Just to mask the smell for now. I'm sure I can like them in a bit. Just need to get used to it first. LOL

If you have a travel mug that works other than if you make them too thick then you can't suck them out but you might be able to stick a thick straw in the hole.
