Is opti really that bad?

my first one was awful but it's because I used the amount of water they suggested. by shake 2, i added more water, and lots of ice and it was better then I loved it. I liked it best with cold coffee to cut some of the sweetness. I almost really enjoyed making a pot of really strong chai tea and letting it get cold in the fridge and using that instead of water as well. There is a whole thread on the recipe forum with optifast ideas. If you aren't a member, just click the link in my signature line and hit join then go to discussion and the thread is called surviving optifast. It's an old thread and some of the the items we used no longer exist but it gives you ideas at least.
the first four days are the toughest with no eating but you find out pretty fast that meals are super easy when you just blend and are done. I still had to cook for my family but my meals were super easy to make for myself.

I started Optifast on Tuesday and have been struggling with it. Some people have no issues with it and love the taste. For me, it smells and tastes like curdled milk. It took me a couple of days to find the right consistency so that I didn't gag/throw up. What worked was 1 cup really cold water, 1/4 cup decaf coffee and 2 ice cubes. I just chug it down and chase each drink with a drink of raspberry crystal light. I can't even think about making it into a pudding-I wouldn't get it down.
It took me 3 days to not be "hungry". I do find that get dizzy if I am later in taking it so I am now careful to space it out. It also has taken me a couple of days to get all 4 down. It really is filling and was hurting my stomach by the end of the drink. Try to stick to a schedule.
I spent my first day trying different suggestions so I would recommend that you do the same. For some, adding extra ice and blending it helps but in the end, I realized that for me it meant more disgusting liquid to get down so it was just better to chug it and be done with it. I do recommend finding something to cut the sweetness of the drink. The raspberry ice Crystal light helps with that.
Good luck on Monday! You are so close!
I've had a really hard time with them. I found decaf coffee (cold) instead of water and ice mixed in a blender and then use a straw. Use more extract then you think you need when flavoring. The NUT at TWH even told me if it was really bad you could dump a whole packet of jello mix in there to help hide the taste - I tried that once but found it a bit overwhelming. I guess my problem is that I don't like sweets very much and all the recipes are sweet. Well, hard not to be I guess when the base flavors are chocolate and vanilla :P
I was only able to get all 4 in once or twice, mostly I got in 3 a day. In the beginning I found having broth for one "meal" helped keep my sanity. Check with your program, if you're one of the lucky ones you may get to eat some veggies!
I am allowed to have 2 cups of green veggies a day. I will have to space them out so I can change up the texture. Definately goingto try decaf coff, I love coffee. Were they angry you only got in 3 a day? MY papers said I have to get 4 in a day, 4-5 hours spaced out.
