I feel like i lost my best friend-food
So as of lastnight I just realised I lost a friend who kept me company when my hubby was on N, comforted me when I was bored and gave me pleasure when I was down.
What did you guys do, how did you get over losing food in your life??

I just think of all of the good I am gaining by leaving those old "friends"behind. I feel better, sleep better, look better, smile more, laugh more.... there has been no regrets at all. Friends come and go, you will make new friends that will comfort you in positive ways. Hang in there.

No, not at all. I walk all the time, I read way more than I ever used too. I have more energy so I always find something that needs doing around the house. But most of all I no longer desire those foods. It is weird but I look forward to healthy foods.

I am two week out from surgery and I am feeling the exact same way. I think because I can't really eat any food yet, I especially am missing that comfort. Plus, I really love food. All different foods, I wasn't picky, which led to the surgery. I am located in Durham Region and haven't found a support group yet. I think it wou help for us to talk through these feelings with people who understand.
There a support group in Oshawa that meets every week.. Next meeting is on Thursday in Whitby at 7. We meet at Wendy's/Tims on thickson Rd just north of 401.. We rotate location to make it easier for people as they are coming from Scarb/Pickering to Bowmanville.. So one week it's in Whitby next week it's on a Tuesday in Oshawa at king/Wilson at tims starts at 7.

Haaa, you are not alone with that thought. My best reply to that is what I always say to myself, ...........I thought food was my friend, when in fact it was my biggest enemy!!!
Don't worry , soon you will find bigger and better pleasures in other things. This is a really HUGE adjustment period. You will really FEEL all those things you masked or avoided with food. You will learn a lot about yourself, stay in control.....the feeling of power is AMAZING! !!!
