1 year seems to be the norm - but some on here have don't it all within about 6-8 months - doesn't seem to be any logic to the math.  I know I wasn't supposed to have my psych appt until June 30th - but I called and got in on the 3rd - so I will keep trying to get cancellations - I live near the hospital - so last minute apps are very easy for me to accommodate - I already have all my forms etc ready to go :)

That is a good plan.  I don't think you need to see them in any particular order.  Even people in the same orientation as I was had theirs all in orders.  I was talking to people in the group nutrition meeting and some hadn't seen the social worker yet.  So yeah I have no idea how they plan the order of things.

Referral TWH: Sept 2015 Orientation: Nov 2015 Social Worker: Jan 2016 Nurse practitioner: Feb 2016 Nutrition (group): Mar 2016 Nutritionist: May 2016 Psych: May 2016 Meeting with Surgeon: July 2016 Surgery!: Nov 2016

So far 80 pounds lost!

The trio appt for Humber is an appt with a Nurse, Dietician and then a social worker. You have to be approved by all three before you get approval for the WLS. Some people have no problem , yet others are asked to sometimes work on things and have a second appt before being approved.  Example would be emotional eating.. your asked to change this habit and see the social worker again to assess how you are doing and what changes you have made.

I had my band removed a year before the RNY due to complications. Also I was seeing Dr Starr *****fuses to do the band removal and RNY at the same time. He firmly believes in letting your stomach heal post band removal first. However there def are surgeons that will do both at the same time. Dr Hagen for sure I know. So I guess it is up to the individual surgeon.

Hope that helps answer some questions :)

It is always so interesting how the different hospitals have varying protocols.  TWH you have 5 basic appointments.  Social worker, nurse practitioner, psychometric, and then one group nutrition and a one on one nutrition.
