Happy To Be Home!
I just started purees today. A friend suggested doing the "downward dog" for gas. I would just squat - but I honestly only passed gas a half dozen times. It took me 5 days to have a #2.
Food suggestions... Starting the 3rd morning following surgery - Each morning I had apple sauce and yogurt (both no sugar added). Lunch cream soup made with 1% (strained - chicken, mushroom, tomato, broccoli, or asparagus for me). Dinner cream of wheat and some more yogurt. Super boring - but it worked. Most nights I had a sugar free pudding cup. I was able to get in two premiere proteins a day from about day 5 on - before that I got through one and a half - but it was a chore. I had protein powder, but hated adding it to my food - so that's why I pushed the premiere through.
I find decaf tea with 1% goes down better than any liquid for me - so I drink lots of tea.
Oh congrats- the time will fly by! I was very overwhelmed my first day home on when to eat/ drink etc but I'm slowly getting the hang of it and so will you. :)

Congrats on the successful surgery! I'm also awaiting surgery on the 3rd so reading through these suggestions is very helpful. I think once you find a rhythm, all will settle into place. Will keep an eye on your posts for tips and suggestions!

You should be able to get all your protien in if you use pc skyr yogurt in plain. 21g protien. I've lived on it for 2 weeks and I'm so f'ing sick of it now the thought makes me gag(I haven't done a single protien powder pre or post op).
Also so if you google Wendy's chili bariatric you will find a few posts with the receipe. I'm making it this afternoon!!!
Good to know! I
make or made chilli a lot anyway but it'll have to be modified now:)

I keep seeing stuff about the Wendy's Chili! I would think that spices would be hard on the stomach post surgery but everything I keep reading says it's great post-op and that some people eat it daily! Crazy. I'm excited! I assume this would be starting week 4 when you are okay to begin regular foods?
As for yogurt, I think all hospitals are different. I'm not to begin yogurt until the end of the first week when I can begin pureed foods. Until then, liquid only. I am to have my protein powder (which I love) with lactose free or soy mil****il then. I love my protein powder (so yummy that I can drink it in water if needed) so I will be using it long-term to ensure that I get enough protein in. Surgery is in 9 days!
