Happy To Be Home!
I'm home from my successful RNY, I'm having a very hard time passing gas though - I've been walking and tried gas X, a few toots here and there but nothing to be proud of. Had my first meal here which consisted of about 4 tbsp of broth, 3 tablespoons of you hurt and half a sugar free jello. I'm not drinking while I eat but was told its later on that I can't do that but right now is fine? I've set my alarm for every 15 min- when it goes off I take a drink. Anyway any newly at home suggestions would be appreciated :)

The most important is water and protein. At this point you are still really swollen. I found even the pre packaged cream of wheat was too much. It is going to take weeks before you are able to get recommended protein in. I had some powder protein that I like syntrax nectar and added to my water. Along with premiere protein. Introduce new foods one at a time. If it doesn't sit well the first time leave for a few days then try again. I was like that with eggs.
When i got to puree i lived on Wendy's chili. A small one lasted for days.
Walking helps with the gas. Pains are the worst the first few days. I'm using protein water from GNC. It's sweet but dilute with water. Also protein shakes. Not much creative stuff to eat at this stage. Had pea soup after it was put through the blender. To much milk products makes the gas worse. If you not on a stool softener start one now. Happy healing!
