Cream soups are full of the full fluid phase. Different centres have difference times for moving between phases. When does your centre say you can have soup? For what it's worth, my centre instructed full fluids immediately, but it was a good week before I could move beyond clear fluids.
I never have cream soups - not enough protein per oz. 17 months out - still don't eat them. Why are you asking???
But didn't your surgeon give you a day by day plan for the first few days and then a week by week plan for the first month. The general order is protein (60-80gms/day)first, then add some veggies. I didn;t start adding veggies for months, and then it was like 2 mini-carrots, or a few green beans. By the time you could eat cream soups, you will not want to be drinking your calories.

I assume my surgeon will give me a plan after surgery, yes.
Im asking because cream soups are part of the full fluids phase- what did you eat in this phase then?

Just prot shakes, SF popcicles, and diet Peach Snapple and, if needed, a spoonful of SFFF Greek Youg for first week. Then prot shakes and 1-2 meals of soft foods (poached fish, cottage cheese, soft cooked eggs). My dr does not want an extended period on fluids and I never had to eat pureed foods either. Mr Dr's plan was great - I love him. Just chew the hell out of the food. When I first investigated WLS and read that you had to eat pureed food - well, that would be difficult for me (I don;t want to say what that would be like because some people are instructed to eat pureed foods). I asked about pureed foods when I first met with surgeon and he said, We don;t eat pureed foods. I was like yippee - that hurdle was gone.
I also had a hiatal hernia fixed, so I had to learn to sip for that - no more gulps. The hernia repair was the best - I had bad heartburn before, but I thought it was just stress.
Good luck - stick to ur doctor's plan. I wanted to lose the weight, so I would not eat a cream soup - people say that I am crazy, bit seems like empty calories vs protein shake or broth. But you may have found a higher nutrition cream soup.
PS I did not eat protein bars until 6 months post-op. In a pinch I would make a protein shake in pudding form (use half the water) and it was similar to consistency of greek yogurt.

I do and it says cream soups- I was just asking what everyone else's plan was since they are all so different
