Got my surgery date!
Yay! Everything falling into place. I do pray the timing is known to both surgeons. Im no expert but I believe the top of your list of promises is to keep the protein incoming whether shakes or solids later. In fact, you should make a pact to yourself and post it on the fridge. Carpal Tunnel is a release of a pinched nerve but muscle strength will be very very important to you. Protein Shakes after WLS is important for muscle strength. So you are unique - not that anybody in WLS is not unique to their situation - your muscles are important to you as you lose body fat. Make that pact and read it everyday. I know how easy it is to want to skip protein sometimes.
BTW - Dr. Hagen is amazing and very caring.
Referral - Feb/14, Orientation HRRH - September/14, Surgeon appt. & gastroscopy Dr. Hagen - October/14, Trio appts. - April/15, Dr. Glazer - April/15, Revision RNY - July 10, 2015
Thank you for the information. I think I should look into some muscle exercises, so I don't loose muscle strength. I had to drink protein shakes before when I wasn't getting enough protein in, not a big meat eater. So I'm looking up some ways to get it in after surgery.Dr. Hagen seemed nice when I saw him the first time. Can't wait to meet with him again
