Psychometry - TWH
Morning!
I have my Psychometry and one-on-one NUT appointment coming up at the end of May.
The Psych appointment is really stressing me out. I have mental health issues and the last thing I need is for this appointment to go wrong.
Any advice, tips on what I should expect going into this appointment would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The Psychiatrist is looking to make sure your symptoms are stable and being treated. He will review your history. It would be a good idea to speak to your mental health doctor re are you ready. Ask them for a letter. Bring their contact information. It all depends on your issues. I had past problems with depression. He asked about it, asked about supports. My appointment lasted about 10 min. It is the psych that has the last word whether you are ready.
I don't see him until July.
I've been on the same medication for 10 years and everything has been stable for 10 years so I only see him every 6 months to check in and get medication repeats.
I know a letter from him would be great so I'll try and get ahold of him before my appointment. It's in 7 days lol

My social worker appointment went great so hopefully this is similar and goes well too.
I was extremely honest at my social work appointment and I think that's so important.

I'm on meds for depression and anxiety. Basically they just want to make sure you are stable/regulated if on meds and have some sort of support person/network. It was pretty short and straight forward and not one of those "tell me about your mother" type of appointments.
The biggest issue I have now is trying to figure out how to take my meds after surgery, which may be something you have to look into as well depending what you are on. One of mine is Zoloft and my PCP wants to keep me on it since I'm stable on it but the capsules are pretty large. She did a bunch of research, and I talked to the nurse practitioner at TWH and basically now I need to talk to a pharmacist about whether or not I can open the capsules and put them in food.
I'm sure the appointment will go fine :)
