How did you feel??
I felt the same way!! All these emotions it's all normal.. Huge decision I was getting cold feet then I would be excited.. I had to keep myself busy with work after work I found things to do so I wouldn't over think things and wore myself so I could sleep at night instead of thinking about the surgery..
Referral received at hrrh Nov6/14, orientation March23/15, surgery April 11/16
I felt normal leading up to surgery. I thought it was because I was too busy with work prepping, but no, even when that was done I was fine. I was normal walking into the surgery room. Normal waking up in recovery. And THAT is probably the most un-normal bit of it. But then, this is pretty par for me - I don't really get excited or nervous for anything.
Terrified and looking for the doctor's number to cancel. Fortunately, he called me back and we had a long talk. That phone call plus the help of a former student who had RNY last year made me realize that I didn't want to throw away the opportunity at a new lease on life. Now 5 weeks later.....I'm so thankful I took that step.
Thanks everyone- I'm just feeling excitement now.. 2 more days!
