Pains when eating
hi everyone,
I had my surgery March 15. I did everything by the book. Now that I'm trying to eat more solid foods, I'm experiencing pains. I chew my food beyond enough. Eat slowly etc. (An hour or more to eat dinner). Food is moist. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if it's just a matter of giving my body more time.
Take a step back to what you know worked and slowly add one food. It is a trial and error to what works at the beginning. I loved fish, shrimp and the crab sticks. Some foods that are more fibrous are harder to digest. One day I could eat egg the next no way. If something doesn't agree back off it for a few days then try it again. Are you having reflux? Do you have a history of reflux? I still have to take prevacid 4 yr out.
You don't mention what food you are eating. Try smaller quantities? Are. You over filling your pouch. Eating too much too will make your pouchy grouchy
Don't spend an hour eating a meal. Set a timer for 15 minutes and eat what you can, then put the rest away. At a month out, you might be satisfied with only one or two tablespoons at a meal.
You have the rest of your life to eat more. In a few months your new stomach will be bigger and more healed and you will be able to eat more without pain.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
