CHEATING ON OPTI ð??"

Hidingaway

There's no hidden meaning or some childhood tragedy as to why I ate TWICE.. I was hungry and caved, it wasn't a split second decision but it was a totally wrong one I admit. Just because someone cheats on Opti doesn't mean they aren't ready or cannot handle the changes that are going to be needed to be successful after surgery. That's totally ridiculous to think that.

No I'm not calling my clinic.. You have no idea how many private messages I have received in regards to this.. How many people that admitted they too cheated with far worse choices than I made.. And their surgeries went fine. If you actually believe that my 2 mistakes will prevent me from having and being successful with surgery then that's totally fine with me. It must be nice to be perfect like you.

And do you know why I'm going to be successful?

Because I'm being given a tool to help me succeed, it's that extra step I need to get to the top..  ridiculous people who think my surgeon is going to open me up and see I've ate subway are going to help me succeed too- not because you helped me in a positive way but because you make me even more determined to prove you wrong.

Thanks for your comment.

PS I'm a tax payer too- im in a pretty high tax bracket so I'm paying for my own surgery actually.

Thanks again

Hey darling, just wanted to chime in for a moment.  I've read through the comments and I know that some of them have been harsh but I think you also know why.  Most of the things they had to say were bang on but maybe could have been delivered a little bit differently. I'm more of the gentle type myself so here is my feedback:

You made a mistake.  You know you did and it sounds like you've learned your lesson.  Yes, you still have 9 (or 8 now?) days of Opti left. You can stick to it for the next week and not veer off of the Opti path once.  However, I am concerned about the fact that you are choosing not to disclose your mistake to your clinic.  It's not a matter of calling them out of guilt and confession, it's a matter of medical necessity. Your surgeon needs to know in order to best serve you and operate on you. Going in blindly without knowing will not help them or you. I strongly suggest you just give them a call and see what they have to say. Hiding this truth is not going to help you even if you don't make the mistake again.  Call them and make sure that you are still on track even if you veered temporarily. They may have a suggestion on how to make sure you still progress properly over the next week and a half so that your surgery can be a success.

Please call and let us know what they have to say (they may say that you don't have anything to worry about as long as you don't do it again).  You may be able to help others who end up in your shoes as well (or those who are tempted to go that way).

This Opti stuff is not the best thing I've ever tasted that's for sure (I'm on Opti right now).  I find that chasing it with flavoured water helps me.  I use the 0 cal water flavours (the ones you squeeze in).  I have 5 flavours.  Some make it taste kind of like Kool-aid (which I haven't had in years), some taste like lemonade and one is coconut-pineapple flavour which makes it taste like a pina colada!

Also, fat-free, low cal buillion tossed into ho****er or some broth will make you feel like you are drinking a cup of soup!  As for the sugar free gum, don't chew too many of those.  They are 5 cals each so try to only stick to one or two per day.

Stick to it.  You can do it!  But please, PLEASE (I beg you) don't hide it from your clinic. Much love!

If I remember correctly, you were pushing HARD to get your surgery done ASAP because of how ready you were.. and yet you failed in the most important part. I'm 17 months out and trust me - hunger DOES come back. What will you do then? You need to learn good habits NOW, because at a year or more out.. it will be too late and I promise you, it doesn't get any easier.

Awww thanks for pointing out that I failed, what an encouraging bunch we have here. It's funny I'm in a few other groups and all I get is support from them- but here NOPE everyone is perfect.

Thanks for your comment

You're right, we should all hold your hand, pat your back and say "there, there". See you in 2 years when you're looking for a revision.

Its people like you that make the 47 people that private messaged me feel like they cant be honest and ask for advice on this forum!

They were scared to admit they messed up also because of the cattiness on here..and you just proved their point.

I wasn't asking for permission or a pat on the back btw, you are just an angry person- how about trying to help someone? Throw some suggestions out here? Give encouragement on how to better succeed?
