I had 3 weeks on Optifast as well, sure I was tempted to cheat, but did not cheat once. Optifast is only the first step in your life long commitment. Yes, it is very hard, but your cravings do not go away after surgery. You have to be totally committed to change, if not this surgery is not for you. I highly suggest that you contact your clinic and tell them of your troubles. They are there to help. Did you feel horrible and scared after the first time you had Subway, Im sure you did. My concerns are if you did, why did you have it a 2nd time. You cant give in to temptation. Again please contact your clinic, if they postpone your surgery until they feel and you feel you are ready, it may be for the best. Remember this is a one time deal, you dont get this opportunity again.
Sorry to hear you are struggling. I start Opti tomorrow so I can't speak about my experience. I read on one of these sites a while ago that someone had cheated on Opti (not sure how much) and when they went in for surgery their liver wasn't small enough and the surgeon couldn't do the surgery. I don't mean to scare you but you might want to search and see if you can find the post and find out the details. I admire you for having the courage for admitting it here. Good luck on your journey and I hope it works out well for you :)

Thankyou- now when I think about it there's way more I could have done to prevent myself from cheating- I just didn't try hard enough and I admit it. Oh I've read those posts too but I've never found one from an actual wls patient who's had this done to them.
Good luck tomorrow- the shakes aren't bad at all btw

Having surgery is all about making changes forever and if you can't do it for 21 days, how will you cope with all the thousands of days ahead of you. You need to ask yourself why you did it and move on and try to not do it again. As for people that got opened on the table and closed back up, I know of two personally. The first woman was super super morbidly obese and had to do 5 weeks of opti to start with and cheated a few times and not even with super bad choices either, opened her up and tried to do it and no way no how so they stopped, woke her up and told her she had to do opti for 3 months if she wanted surgery. The other was a man who always seem to lose faster than us and he did his 3 weeks, cheated a few times and opened him, couldn't perform it safely and closed him up and sent home to do 8 weeks of opti and then they'd try again. Both eventually ended up with surgery but had to do opti for way too damn long for a few cheats. Don't do this to yourself. Stick to it faithfully for the next 9 days and your liver should be okay.
Thankyou
This has opened my eyes more than you'll ever know- I am in constant touch with myself over this..cheating and not doing what I AM SUPPOSED TO is what got me here in the first place!

I'd like to hear from anyone on here that has been closed back up and surgery refused because of cheats also. Hearing it from the person who has experienced it would be great..
It seem's we've all " heard" or " have a friend" but no one has posted its happened to them..I have searched this forum and come up with nothing.

But why be embarassed if you've had surgery and have lost your weight?
Id love to hear a personal story right from someone's mouth about this......I think it would be very helpful to myself and others who might be in the same position as I have been...
