There used to be a free shuttle bus that ran from Toronto General to TWH every 30 minutes I believe it was.  He could get off the subway on University Ave and then walk the short distance to TGH and ride the shuttle over if they still have it.  My friend did that years ago when she'd often stay in one of the hotels near Yonge and was having her appointments at TWH.

ETA:  Looks like they still have it and it's every 15 minutes during the day.

I don't know your situation,  but can he not stay with your mom or sister or hotel (if you guys can afford it)? That may be easier for him if it's an option.

Hi daizymom

My surgery is June 01/16. I was told that I would only be in hospital one night. Maybe your stay will not be long?

Thanks for all the great options.  You guys are awesome.  Anyway I have a while before I have to worry about it but at least I know what choices we have.

When I was at TWH on Monday they told me that they can't specify an exact time frame because everyone is different- but they aim for 1 year from orientation and I was told when I called in that it could be 6 months to a year from orientation.

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

77 lbs lost and counting!

Losing the regain! I got this!

I had my orientation this month at TWH - they said that surgery could be there, Toronto East or St Mike's - I know they are all still in the same general area - but it might not be TWH
