ISO surgery buddy - May 6th
My surgery date is May 6th. Start Opti on the 15th.
My surgery will be at TWH.
Blood work is scheduled for tomorrow, I have my appointment via telehealth with the anesthesiologist on the 22nd. (Is that all that is done before surgery - blood work and meet anesthesiologist!?)
I would really love to find someone along the same lines in the process - just so there's someone to chat with. Perhaps we could be Facebook friends or something? Whatsapp chat? Whatever!
Anyone? Beuller?
(I'm 35, have two preschoolers, married, live in central Ontario, work full time, my referral was sent May 2014.)
That's all there is ... all the best. I had my surgery at TWH and it was fine ... I was so lucky to have had no complications and the staff were great! Remember to sip, walk and 'make music'! I went in Dec 18th and out Dec 20th. Good luck with your Opti ... the first few days may be difficult but you will be fine, I found that my last Opti of the day was made with a little less water to give a pudding consistency (chocolate) just to change it up from the shake format ... I didn't even use any flavoured syrups, etc. and was on it for 3 weeks. See you on the loser's bench ... there's lots of room!

I bought all vanilla so that I could flavour it any way I could think of. My husband ordered me sugar free strawberry, caramel, chocolate, and one other syrup from the low carb grocery store. The pudding idea sounds brilliant! I am thinking of getting myself into ketosis today and tomorrow before starting the opti, as I'm sure that will make it much easier! Thank youor your kind words - I'm looking forward to my spot on the bench.
I've been off and on keto for 6 years. First time I stayed on for 1.5 years and lost 150lbs.... Then got pregnant and was told "no keto".... Gained 64 lbs that pregnancy. Went keto after, lost my breast milk. Took domperidone to get it back and gained more weight. Then got pregnant.... Had another baby and some more weight gain, taking me to gastric bypass.
They didn't tell me I'd be talking to the pharmacist nor the nurse - should I call to see? They told me it was a telehealth appointment with the anesthesiologist. My blood work, EKG, and swabs are today. I'm not sure who I met when I was there, and I'm not sure who is doing my surgery - I believe I was told "it depends who is in surgery that day". I sent you a PM.
