My journey has begun...again....

It usually takes a yr at least to go through all the appointments. Once you have orientation at TWH it took 6 months for me to have surgery. It is the wait to the first appointments that take the longest. So some sites it is 2 years.

Search the site and you can find those who went from band to RNY and they can give you more information on the process.

I just brought the report with me but they will get it. Just bring the name of the clinic.

If you don't mind having appointments one at a time they can usually get you in a little quicker versus wanting three in one day.

Good luck

Thanks again. I did give them all the info on my intake forms about my sleep study etc so hopefully that will do it. I live in Toronto so appts one at a time is no problem for me. I will even tell them to keep me on a cancellation list because I really don't need much notice I'm pretty flexible with my work schedule.

They don't really keep a cancellation list.  I was told to call in every couple of weeks to see if there were any cancellations, on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning.  Was able to jump up two of my appointments that way, but even with that, it still took a year :-)

Good to know - I will put them on speed dial!  :)

It took me 14 months from Referral to Surgery date with TWH. I learned a lot about the process, myself and my motivation during that waiting period. I don't know if speeding things up is the best plan. Take the time to work through things...make sure that you are ready when you finally get on the table.

All the best!

Thanks. This is not new to me. Have already done all the thinking and reflecting.  I'm just tired of dealing with everything that comes along with the band.
