You're doing great!!  33 lbs on my side of the fence would take months to lose only to have it come back and then some.

How did we get here?  I think foods my addiction for dealing with life.  I use it like a drug and have even when I wasn't as heavy.  Now I watch my 19 year old son struggle the same way and it breaks my heart.  Same parents and yet my daughter doesn't and won't likely have these issues.  Maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better, like my poor lifestyle choices didn't cause my son's issues with food?  Genetics, environment who knows?

I am one of 5 morbidly or bigger than morbidly obese children. Both by parents have been and continue to be morbidly obese.  All of us have tried them all and then some.  This is my hope  and in my family I am usually the trail blazer so perhaps my siblings will follow.  I'd be lying if I didn't say I am pissed off at myself for where I've landed but we need to move forward.

I worked hard my whole life and I am extremely fortunate with respect to all other areas of my life.  I say, "Why can't I beat this weight thing? How can something that is a seemingly simple concept (eat less/ exercise) continue to elude me?"  These are questions I've asked my whole adult life and I'm done I know this isn't a magic pill or I would have done it years ago.  I need this tool and I promise myself that I will make use of it by following the rules.

Be good to yourself.  Everyone who makes this decision is brave and an inspiration.  It's not an easy decision or journey and for all those who judge and say it's the easy way out...well they can kiss my large size ~^%.

I have been obese my whole life.  My parents started feeding me adult size portions when I was a  toddler. So I was always used to eating a lot of food. I  can imagine that's what you've been used to also with having obese parents and siblings -that's the norm.

It's also hard to break the cycle of food addiction and turning to food to relieve your emotions.

I've had the surgery and have lost 35 lbs since the start of Optifast. But it's still a struggle fighting head hunger as they don't fix your brain (lol).

You're taking the right steps by having this surgery.  We're here for you whenever you need us! ?

I hear mielleorganics really works and has amazing results! I plan on ordering some soon to check them out. Some Sally's stores now carry it. The company sells a multivutamin/hair supplement as well as hair  care products. Hope this helps :)

Hi CMof2

I experienced aggressive hair loss around the 6 mo mark and I was very worried having alopecia normally. I can echo what others have said it does grow back. I'm a 15 months out and I have noticed I have new hairs protruding out everywhere on my head after I dry my hair so, I'm happy to report it appears to be growing back.

I'm not sure any supplement will prevent hair loss however, I do like a product called Hair Volume by New Nordic. I think it is rather expensive though but, I find it also makes my skin feel really soft and my nails stronger as well after I've been taking them for a few weeks. My hair seems to grow a little faster as well.

Good luck Bev
