Not too much on the go today. Marking assignments and maybe shopping for a new toilet. Very exciting ;)

I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm up another pound. I'm trying to stay motivated. Two of the meds I take have weight gain as a major side effect, so I might talk to my doctor about switching them or tapering off.

Breakfast - ham and oatmeal

Snack - carrots and pb

Lunch - meatballs and tomato soup

Snack - egg and pickles

Dinner - chicken sausage and crack slaw

Snack - pudding and protein cake

All water and vits

Good morning everyone.  Birdiegirl I hear you about counting out stuff, it does help.  Meggles great idea to talk to your doc about the meds, maybe that is effecting things.  Try not to weigh yourself too often, it can mess with your head.  I weigh at the most once a week, and often once a month so as not to freak myself out if I am not losing.  Lots of things can cause fluctuations such as eating salty food, how much fibre you are eating, hormone fluctuations, stress, medications.  Hang in there.

I am officially embarrassed of my home.  It is disorganized and cluttered I have trouble finding stuff I need, which drives me crazy.  I really need to do a big clean but my energy has been so low lately I just do the basics and the rest gets bumped to a future date that never comes.  Why is it so hard to do the things that we know will make us feel better?  I have been reading up on the topic so logically I know it will help, I plan to organize and then I just don't do it.  Maybe it is because I live alone?  Am I the only one with this issue?  It seems to me other people are better at keeping things neat?  Any ideas?

I have been playing too many online games lately, it is relaxing but it sucks up my time, time I could be using to do useful things to boost my mood and energy.  I read somewhere that gaming addiction is a huge problem for many people, causing job loss, isolation, and leading to divorce.  Today I am going to get some cleaning done and use the game as a reward with a limited time, this usually works.  This afternoon I go to the gym and then do a 90 minute hot yin yoga class, so I will be getting my exercise for sure.

Ziz I am OCD so can't relate but I can give you advice. My house is always clean and tidy and you could stop in unannounced and I wouldn't have to worry. I would tackle one room at a time starting with the kitchen then bathroom then living room and bedroom. I clean my kitchen every night so if you stay on top of it it's easy to maintain once you get it to that point. I also love mr clean wipes so I clean my bathroom counter and toilet every day and empty the garbage. What a difference it makes. I also make sure to make my bed every day. Having a tidy home puts the mind at ease. Personally I would stay off the computer until tonight and just start cleaning. I find once I start I get on a roll. I also find though when I'm doing one thing I get sidetracked and clean something else then go back to where I had started. I'm all over the place but it works. Put some good music on loud and go to it!  It's also great exercise. Good luck and take it a room at a time!

Thanks Zizz. I did some research and both meds cause increased appetite. They haven't been working very well, so I think I will call the doctor tomorrow and make an appointment.

As for cleaning I totally agree with Monica. One room at a time. I make myself a to-do list for each day - e.g. have a shower, clean the bathroom, wash the towels. I hate having things left at the end of the day so I reward myself as I do things. Even just starting with gathering one bag of garbage/recycling/donate items can get you moving :)
